L’isolation Thinsulate™ : chaleur et performance

When temperatures drop and the wind picks up on job sites, keeping your feet warm becomes essential. That’s where Thinsulate™ insulation comes in—a technology developed by 3M and recognized worldwide for delivering exceptional warmth without sacrificing comfort or lightweight performance.

What is Thinsulate™?

Thinsulate™ is an insulation made of extremely fine synthetic fibers — up to ten times thinner than traditional polyester fibers. This fine structure allows more warm air to be trapped in a smaller space, significantly enhancing thermal performance. Its dense yet lightweight construction retains body heat while allowing moisture to escape, helping prevent sweat buildup.

This material delivers up to twice the thermal performance of other insulations of the same thickness, while remaining thin and flexible. Because it absorbs less than 1% of its weight in water, Thinsulate™ maintains its insulating properties even in wet conditions. The result: warm feet without added bulk, even in extreme cold.

Why choose boots with Thinsulate™ insulation?

Work boots equipped with Thinsulate™ insulation combine protection, durability, and thermal comfort.

  • Thin and lightweight: Microfibers add no bulk or stiffness.

  • Breathable: Helps keep feet dry during prolonged activity.

  • Moisture-resistant: Maintains effectiveness through repeated wet and dry cycles.

  • Durable: Resists compression, allowing the insulation to perform over time.

Whether you’re working on a job site, in a cold-storage facility, or outdoors in the depths of winter, Thinsulate™ provides reliable warmth without limiting mobility.

Finding the right boot

Acton offers a wide range of boots featuring Thinsulate™ insulation, available in different insulation levels (such as 200g, 400g, or 600g) to suit varying temperatures and activity levels.

  • 200g: Provides comfortable warmth for outdoor use while remaining suitable for indoor/outdoor transitions—an ideal everyday work option.

  • 400g to 600g: Recommended for harsher winter conditions or for more static work where the body generates less heat.
